(BCN) -- The city of Santa Rosa and Lyft have partnered to establish four designated rideshare pickup and drop-off zones downtown to improve transportation access, support local businesses, and enhance rider safety, city officials announced Thursday.
The zones are now active and available to Lyft riders and drivers at four locations:
According to city officials, the designated areas are intended to make rideshare pickups and drop-offs more convenient while helping organize downtown traffic and complement existing parking and transportation options.
The city installed signs, coordinated the locations with downtown parking and wayfinding materials, and is promoting the zones through its communication channels.
Lyft added the locations to its app and provided branded signage.
"By adding another transportation option, we're giving people more flexibility in how they travel to and enjoy downtown Santa Rosa," said Scott Adair, Chief Economic Development Officer for the City of Santa Rosa.
To mark the launch, Lyft is offering new riders 50% off two rides, up to $10 per ride, using the promotional code SANTAROSALYFT. Eligible riders can redeem the offer through the Lyft app.
